Sales Cloud shaped around how a lender actually tracks a loan
Fourteen months as the Salesforce developer for a San Diego small-business lender, building the automation and data structure behind loan tracking and client management.
- Practice
- Salesforce, Sales Cloud and lending
- Period
- Feb 2020 to Mar 2021

Lending does not fit a stock pipeline
Sales Cloud out of the box tracks a deal. A lender tracks an application, the documents attached to it, the decision, and then a client relationship that continues after funding.
Customising for that meant custom objects and validation rules first, so the data going in was accurate before any automation was built on top of it.
What the role covered
A developer seat with support responsibilities attached, which kept the build honest about what users could actually work with.
- Sales Cloud customised for loan tracking and client management
- End-to-end automation using Process Builder and Flow
- Custom objects and validation rules for accurate data capture
- Email-to-case integration and automated lead assignment flows
- Ongoing support and troubleshooting for Salesforce users
Automation with a route back in
Email-to-case and automated lead assignment closed the loop between inbound enquiry and an owner, so nothing sat unassigned in an inbox.
Outcome
Fourteen months of continuous development and support, leaving a Sales Cloud org built around lending rather than adapted to it.
