Turning a half-built Salesforce org into a working lending platform
A Sydney lending business was running broker relationships, origination and approvals on a Salesforce org that had been customised in pieces. We cleaned it up and finished the job.

A temporary solution that had become permanent
Vangeld described their own org honestly: a little clunky and half done, workable as a stopgap but not fit for the business it now had to run.
Their Salesforce handled broker and borrower contact management, origination and the entire deal flow up to funding, at which point loans moved to a separate loan management system.
The surface we had to get right
Lending is a process business, so the work was mostly about making one long chain reliable end to end.
- Broker and borrower contact management
- Origination and deal flow through the sales stages
- Multi-user approval process management
- Approval document generation
- Inbound and outbound customer and broker communication
- Customer acceptance, instructions to legal, contract, through to funded, lost, declined or deferred
Cleaning up before building
The first pass was a review of the customisations already in place: what to keep, what to rebuild, what to delete. Removing half-finished automation before adding more is what stops the second build from inheriting the first one's problems.
From there we rebuilt the process in the order the business runs it, so each stage could be tested with real deals as it landed.
Outcome
Four months on a full-time cadence, closed at 5.0. The org now carries a loan from broker enquiry to funded without leaving Salesforce.
